Absract: Problems of accurate manuscript dating by the spectrophotometry method in infrared range and ofProblems of accurate manuscript dating by the spectrophotometry method in infrared range and ofmatching of reflectance spectra of ink with the ones related to handwritten materials with known datesare considered. The advantage of this method is in its non-destructive character due to optical radiation ofsmall intensity, which does not alter properties and condition of the material under study. The conductedexperiments proved useful in establishing similarity and distinctions of freestanding fragments ofF.M. Dostoevsky's manuscripts.
Keywords: F. Dostoevsky's manuscripts, dating of scattered records, optical radiation at low intensity, spectrophotometric study of texts
