Absract: The article deals with the representation of body and space in L. Andreev’s The Black Maskers. The play couldThe article deals with the representation of body and space in L. Andreev’s The Black Maskers. The play couldbe considered a radical artistic experiment in terms of theatrical embodiment of the human mind. The mainconcepts of the pan-psychological theater, an idea realized by the writer in the 1910s, could be traced in thework. The present article examines the following questions: the role of the body, the expansion of the space ofconsciousness, the methods of embodying the inner world of man in the state of crisis, and so on.
