Аннотация: Среди  поздних  произведений  Д.Г.  Лоуренса  и  В.  Вулф  выделяются  несколько  текстов  с  мифологической основой. Пьеса “Давид” (1926) и книга “Апокалипсис” (1931) Лоуренса, эссе “Своя комната” (1929) и роман “Волны” (1931) Вулф. В статье они впервые рассматриваются как корпус
текстов с общими и различными характеристиками. Исследуются способы переосмысления писателями мифов и легенд различного происхождения, лежащих в основе сюжета и художественного строя этих произведений. Выявляются закономерности авторской интерпретации мифа в связи с
проблематикой и поэтикой модернизма.
